Pench National Park in Madhya Pradesh is situated under the Seoni and Chhindwara administrative districts and shares a southern boundary with the state of Maharashtra. Part of Pench also extends into Maharashtra state. Pench is one of the easiest national parks in India to reach.Locate us
- The nearest airport is Nagpur which is approximately at a distance of 140 kms. Nagpur is an international airport and also has flights from all major cities in India.
- Jabalpur airport is the second best option and is approximately 190 kms from Pench. Both Nagpur and Jabalpur are connected by a good national highway for the road journey.
- Nagpur is the nearest railway station at an approximate distance of 145 km with trains from all parts of India. Jabalpur railway station is another option that is at an approximate distance of 185 km. Another option is Chindwara which has limited train connections. More information about trains and online booking can be done at www.irctc.co.in and www.indianrail.gov.in. Lodge will be happy to book a vehicle for pick up and drop from the station or airport on prior information.
- Pench Tiger Reserve is located on the Nagpur-Jabalpur Highway and has many off-shoot roads depending on the gate you are trying to access in Pench National Park. Pench is well connected to Nagpur by an express highway, parts of which are elevated to make it one of the most successful wildlife corridors in the world. Pench is under 3 hours drive from Nagpur and about 4 hours from Jabalpur. Pench is also well connected by road from Tadoba, Kanha, and Satpura National Parks making a wonderful wildlife circuit.
- The nearest bus stand to Pench is Khawasa or Seoni and hourly buses are available from Nagpur. Khawasa is 12 km from Pench and you can avail the pick-and-drop service organized by the resorts. Khawasa gives access to Turia gate side of Pench. For Karmhjiri and Jamtara side of Pench, it's best to get dropped at Suktara air strip and Pench Tree Lodge is 20 km from there. Though it is highly recommended to use a taxi service or car to reach Pench. There are many midways for refreshments and toilets on the way except in the corridor part of the highway.
Reaching Pench Tree Lodge
If you are using Google Map for directions from Nagpur, please ensure that you do not enter Pench Tree Lodge but enter Suktara Air Strip first and once you reach Suktara then change the destination to Pench Tree Lodge.
From Nagpur airport, the approximate distance to Pench Tree Lodge is 140 km, the same is slightly more from the railway station.
